Down East Community Hospital’s Surgical Unit consists of two operating suites and one procedure/endoscopy room.  Our specially trained staff is devoted to excellence in providing quality care and is guided by the Hospital’s mission and values.

In the surgical department, we pride ourselves in providing personalized, patient-centered care to patients of all ages while they undergo procedures and surgeries.  It is our aim to offer assurance, comfort and education throughout the surgical and anesthetic continuum.  The surgery department staff have a combined total of approximately 450 years in experience at DECH.  We recognize the importance of balancing newest recommendations and technology with honest, home-town care at every patient experience.  Our patients tell us they feel important and valued, and not just another number.
