Support Our Mission

Philanthropic support built Down East Community Hospital in 1964 to fill a need for a medical facility to care for the health and well being of people in Washington County. Today, we would not be able to provide exceptional healthcare to the people of Washington County without the exceptional generosity of our community of friends.

Our health care facilities and programs have many different needs and it is impossible to meet them all through our regular operating revenues.

Your giving makes a difference! Contributions, both past and present, make the difference – the difference in our ability to offer the latest in medical technology and sophisticated care and the difference in our ability to increase charitable care to meet our community’s needs.

Charitable gifts support:
  • Community health education and patient support programs;
  • Free care for those in need;
  • Facility improvements;
  • New and replacement medical equipment;
  • And, more.

Donations are appreciated throughout the year. Please consider a gift of cash or stock, and think about including us in your will or estate plans.

Please contact the Down East Health Trust office at any time for more information at (207) 255-0244 or email us at julieh@dech.org. Or make an on-line gift now.
