Message from our CEO
Thank you for visiting our Down East Community web site.
Our mission is to improve the health of the people in the Sunrise County by being as passionate, determined and resilient as those we serve and by balancing exceptional service, financial integrity, current technology, staff satisfaction and collaborative community involvement. Each of these words was carefully considered by our Board of Trustees and they are vibrant in the life of our hospital.
Our vision is to make every patient experience exceptional! By this we mean that quality care is defined for us by each patient. As a community hospital we are accountable for providing quality services and, in doing that, we treat our patients as partners in the care that they receive. We have the time each patient needs not only to receive care but to help each patient understand what we are doing and why. In getting to know our patients, we understand what they expect from us.
Our goal is to always
ensure that we communicate clearly, that we answer questions that patients and their family have and ensure they understand what is needed to achieve the best outcome possible.
I think this is a great, friendly and competent hospital and that we are fortunate to have many talented clinicians and professionals working here. Our business plan is as a collaborator with other area private practices, health centers and the Calais Regional Hospital. With those goals of supporting each other and avoiding the waste of resources on competition, we hope to earn and keep the loyalty of all of the communities and patients we serve.
