--News Archive-- | | H1N1 "Swine Flu" Update
As the threat of H1N1 virus moves into Maine, we encourage our community to learn as much as you can about how to prevent the illness and what steps to take should you begin to experience flu-like symptoms.
We invite you to go to the Center for Disease Control's website at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/ where you will find a wealth of information on the Swine Flu.
Should the H1N1 begin to reach into Washington County, this website will be updated with the most current local information and resources. Please visit us often.
The common symptoms of the virus are cough, headache, body aches, fever, chills, sore throat and fatigue. Should anyone begin to experience these symptoms, they should contact their physician immediately.
In order to prevent the flu, avoid contact with anyone who is sick and the most important thing for people to do is to wash their hands well and wash them often.
Thank you for choosing Down East Community Hospital.
